I have been waiting for Kingdom of Ash since I finished Tower of Dawn last year and oh boy did it exceed my expectations! As someone who has been following Aelin’s journey from the very beginning, this book was everything I could have hoped for and more. The action scenes were intense and kept me on my toes until the very end. And let me tell you, there were some major plot twists that had me gasping out loud.
I have no shame in admitting that I ugly cried during certain parts of this book (no spoilers here!). But there were also moments that had me laughing out loud – Maas has such a talent for balancing heavy emotions with lighthearted banter between characters. Speaking of characters, can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing each one is? They all play such important roles in the story and are so well-developed.
